ULIsf’s first video profile series is called the Executive Summary. The Executive Summary is a brief video series in which Bay Area real estate and land use professionals discuss the arc of their careers, personal interests, and the impact of ULI on their careers.  The series, developed by Rob DeWaters and Miles Garber, aims to foster wider professional and personal connections across the ULI San Francisco membership.

An Executive Summary with Jeanne Myerson

Ms. Myerson joined The Swig Company in 1997. Under Jeanne’s leadership, The Swig Company accomplished a smooth transition from its respected roots in the hospitality industry to a recognized urban office investor and manager of over 9 million square feet of office space.

Before joining The Swig Company, Jeanne was president and chief executive officer of Bailard Biehl & Kaiser Real Estate Investment Trust, a private REIT with a diversified, national investment portfolio. Prior to joining BB&K, Ms. Myerson was director of facilities and real estate worldwide for NeXT Computer, Inc., of Redwood City, California. Ms. Myerson joined NeXT from Metropolitan Life Real Estate Investments where she held senior management positions in Boston, New York, and Northern California.

Ms. Myerson has been recognized as one of the most influential women in the San Francisco business community by the San Francisco Business Times, is a member of the board of directors of BRE Properties, Inc., a NYSE-listed developer and operator of multi-family properties and is Chair of its real estate committee and is on the Northern California Advisory Board of City National Bank. In addition, Jeanne was a member of the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce for many years and is a member of Lambda Alpha.

Jeanne Myerson has been a member of the Urban Land Institute for 15 years.  She has served on multiple National Product Councils and has been a longtime sponsor of ULI San Francisco.

An Executive Summary with Mike Covarrubias

Mike Covarrubias is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TMG Partners. Mr. Covarrubias chairs TMG’s Investment Committee, oversees all of the company’s operations and has directed the company since 1995.  His professional background includes 17 years with Union Bank, including commercial and real estate lending as well as administrative management. In his last position, he served as Senior Vice President and Manager of Union Bank’s Silicon Valley Regional Real Estate Center.  Mr. Covarrubias is a graduate of the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Mike Covarrubias has been an active member of the Urban Land Institute for 21 years.  He serves on the local San Francisco District Council advisory board and participaties at many ULIsf events including YLG’s Learn From the Best and ULIsf’s Emerging Trends conference.

An Executive Summary with Mike Jameson

Mike is Managing Director of Prudential Mortgage Capital Company located in San Francisco. He is responsible for managing the firm’s third-party, commercial mortgage asset management.  Jameson began his career in real estate as assistant to the President for the Shorenstein Company.  He was a retail leasing agent for Norris, Beggs and Simpson, a regional commercial brokerage firm, prior to joining Prudential in 1990.  Jameson holds degrees from UC Davis and Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.

Mike is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and is the current Chair of our 1,800-member ULI San Francisco District Council. Prior to becoming Chair, he was actively involved in many capacities within ULI, including Chairman of Sponsorship and longtime UrbanPlan volunteer.

An Executive Summary with Kate White

Kate White became ULI San Francisco’s first Executive Director in 2005. She is a social entrepreneur with two decades of experience in sustainable urban development and public policy.  Prior to joining ULI, Kate served as founding Executive Director of mission-achieving, economically-robust and replicable organizations, including San Francisco’s first car-sharing service and the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition. Kate has been a leader of land use policy reform and funding campaigns as well as an author and lecturer on housing, smart growth, transit-oriented development, and organizational management. She is also a mentor and coach for students at University of California at Berkeley, University of San Francisco, San Francisco State University and for Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group.

An Executive Summary with Kim Diamond

Kim Diamond is Principal at ev8, a real estate consulting firm focused on assisting clients with entitlement services, land valuation, asset disposition strategies, market analysis, and project management. Drawing from its 20 years of real estate experience and planning expertise, ev8 provides clients with a full spectrum of real estate advisory services.  In addition, on behalf of AvalonBay Communities, Inc, ev8 is actively involved with development of 182-unit apartment community in Hayes Valley in San Francisco. Specifically responsible for managing the process, including the consultant team, for the preparation and the submittal of the Environmental Evaluation application to City of San Francisco Planning Department to commence the CEQA review process.

Kim is an active member in the Urban Land Institute, currently serving as the Vice Chair for Mission Advancement on the local ULIsf Board.

Rick Dishnica is President of The Dishnica Company, LLC. The Dishnica Company was formed in 1999 to pursue his individual investment goals, to develop infill housing, both for-sale and for-rent in the Bay Area, and to provide real estate consulting services. Rick is an active member in the Urban Land Institute, currently serving on the national level as the Chair of the Multi-Family Blue Council and was the former Chair of the San Francisco District Council.
