The San Francisco Young Leaders Group develops a number of special programs throughout the year that are one-time tours and lectures pertaining to new projects in the bay area. Below are some of the past programs.
YLG Fireside Chat
The Fireside Chat is a new program series for the Young Leaders Group. It is an up close and personal opportunity to sit down with top Bay Area real estate icons in an informal and intimate setting in order to gather insight and perspective regarding leadership, career paths, success, lessons learned, sustainability, and what ULI means to them.

YLG Exchange Program
The exchange program encompasses a group of YLG members traveling to another ULI District Council city for a tour of that city’s current projects and networking with the YLG group in that city. The chairs are responsible for planning and organizing these events throughout the year.
Eleven members of San Francisco’s Young Leaders Group attended its first exchange with the New York City District Council in November 2006. Over the course of three days, the group toured some of the most innovative urban developments in the U.S. and gained invaluable insight from local industry leaders. Projects toured included One Bryant Park, The Solaire Building, and 7 World Trade Center.
In October 2007, the Young Leaders participated in their second exachange to Vancouver & Whistler, British Columbia. The Young Leaders enjoyed presentations with some of Vancouver's most prominent civic leades, developers, and architects as well as an opportunity to meet with fellow Young Leaders from Vancouver's newly formed District Council. Projects toured included the 2010 Olympic Village Construction Site, Yaletown's high-density, residential waterfront community, and Intrawest's Whistler Resort.

The Young Leaders hosted their second Ventures in the Vineyard program in November 2007, leading thirty-five young leader members on behind-the-scenes tours of a few of the newer ventures in the Napa Valley. The group enjoyed a luncheon and presentation with Bill Harlan, founder of Meadowood Resort, as well as a comprehensive tour of Keith Rogal's future Napa Pipe development.

Realizing Rincon & Transbay Development
Rincon Hill and San Francisco’s Transbay development have been two of the most dynamic and interesting redevelopment efforts. YLG members were treated in March 2005 to a tour of "The Metropolitan" a new 342 unit high-rise residential condominium development and a presentation by Mike Grisso, Senior Planner, San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, Marshall Foster, Lead Planner, San Francisco Planning Department, and Clark Manus, CEO-CFO, Heller Manus Architects on the development of San Francisco’s Rincon Hill and the Transbay Terminal.
Leveraging Luis
In October 2004, The YLG had the pleasure of Luis Belmonte, formerly of AMB and currently with Seven Hills Properties, speak to a large group of YLGer’s on insights from a real estate industry icon as well as a look into the redevelopment of San Francisco Pier One. Luis' humor and antidotes continue to make his speaking engagement exciting and extremely informative.
